Tim Tweedy: Author of the Month

The SeeingWomens-Place is pleased to announce that author Timothy Tweedy will be joining us later this month to discuss his new book, The Seeing. Tweedy attended school at the University of Northern Iowa where he received a degree in Broadcast Writing and Performance. Tweedy was born a twin, which helped to feed his incredible interest in extrasensory phenomena, in particular the connection between siblings. He is an Iowa native, but currently lives in Minnesota with his two children and finds employment as a computer programmer.

The Seeing is Tweedy’s first novel. The story first came to him at the age of twenty-two years old. He attempted to write it down at that time but lacked the endurance to get beyond the first page. Twelve years later he found the stamina deep within himself and late one night began to tackle his project. This began a two year marathon that culminated in his completed novel, The Seeing.

Tweedy’s story explores the link between trauma and clairvoyance through its two main characters. Both characters have experienced a childhood trauma, which has left each of them with incredible extrasensory powers. The two characters are affected quite differently by their powers; one uses his talents to solve crimes, while the other is left with the taste of not-so-sweet revenge. The Seeing is a fast-paced thriller that will keep you excitedly turning the pages right up to the end.

~Lynette is a wife and mother of three from the Pacific Northwest. Although she has a fairly open mind about extrasensory powers, she is fairly sure she does not have an alternate personality. However, if indeed she does, she's hoping for a buff chick named Inge.
